2010 Southwestern

Section Meeting

The Southwestern Section met in Phoenix, Arizona at the The Pointe Hilton Squaw Peak Resort. The meeting was kicked off with a welcoming reception sponsored by the Central Arizona Chapter. There were approximately 105 attendees and 50 partners in attendance.

The education program included a variety of educational sessions totaling 2.0 CEUs. Topics included:

The winner of the Artie’s Apple Award is Joe Jones from California. Last year’s winner, Marv Millet, presented the pin to Joe at the banquet Wednesday night. There were also two honorary Artie’s Apple awards presented to Joe Clark and Bob Milatovich.

The partners participated in a Jewelry making instruction after breakfast on Monday, and on Tuesday the entire group took off on a day trip to Sedona, Arizona. Monday night, the attendees and partners all attended a dinner onsite with a comedy show. The Central Arizona Chapter did an excellent job organizing the event and making sure everyone felt welcome.

Next year’s meeting will be held August 28 to September 1, 2011 at John Ascuaga’s Nugget in Sparks, Nevada. The Best in the West Nugget Rib Cook-off will take place September 1-6, 2011 so plan to stay a little longer if you have the time!
